The Beat Suite
Fresh News
Apart from the fact that we've moved the show back by half an hour, so it begins at 11.30 rather than 00.00 there's a lot happening in Rhubarb Radio and The Beat Suite. A new feature has just been fully launched on the website, which, to say the least, lets us write all sorts of random stuff RIGHT HERE This means that more and more information will be put in here, and we're gonna try to move your attention from our blog to the site you're looking at right now.
Notice, that if you click on any of the show dates on the left such as this one, you'll be taken to a page dedicated to that show. There you'll find the usual graphics, videos etc. which usually land on our blog. Anyway, enough from us... NOW HIT THAT PLAY BUTTON!
The Beat Suite
The Beat Suite is the product of the collaboration between DJ Skeleton and producer/sound engineer Dolhasz.
It’s a carefully selected mixture of head-nodding rhythms, ranging from various strands of experimental electronica through breaks, dubstep, jungle and hip-hop to anything deemed original or moving.
Keeping you in tune with what’s happening in the area regarding local acts, producers, DJs, artists and events, the Beat Suite spreads good vibes and is on the constant lookout for dope beats from dusty wax through unsigned acts and new producers to the latest releases.
Skeleton
Hailing from the Lake District but currently based in Birmingham, Skeleton’s a DJ that plays a variety of broken beats ranging from funk to dubstep and anything in between.
He holds residencies at Trigger, Secret Wars and the Open Beats Collective and can also be found playing back to back sets with Royal.
Find him at myspace.com/skeletonskratch.
Dolhasz
Straight out of Poland, Dolhasz came to Birmingham to embark on a journey of sound. Starting a degree in sound engineering and discovering the local underground scene expanded his musical tastes and got him involved with production.
Additcted to broken beats, dynamics, motion, space and energy in music he always appreciates original production, innovative approach and fusion of eclectic influences.
He suffers from a tendency to write really long sentences. Find him a myspace.com/dolhasz.
