DCA are based at the Custard Factory also, and their work over the past 18 years has been to design, engage and deliver project-specific work with communities across the West Midlands. Using traditional, performing and multimedia-based arts activities, DCA works closely in partnership with Central European, Government, Corporate and Public bodies to deliver community regeneration programmes where the need arises.

Janet Rooms, General Enquiries, Administration & Membership Co-ordinator

An experienced TV researcher, production manager, senior administrator and radio presenter, Janet is responsible for all new membership enquiries. New members applying to join Rhubarb Radio will all need to register their details with us before we can move forwards to any of the other stages, and it is Janet who heads up the administration support team, handling all new enquiries that come in to the station.

Paul Hadley, Managing Editor

Liaising closely with The Production Team Managers, Guest Artist Co-ordinator, Admin & Membership Team, Venues, Events and OB Manager, external clients and partnership organisations, responsible for all communications, Paul is the link person between the internal workings of the station and the outside world.

Production Team Managers

Responsible for all audio output and supported by a growing team of producers and researchers- Justin’s, Oli’s and Kipp’s joint roles involve constant monitoring of quality delivered by all presenters and production teams, plus making sure that all shows integrate with our common creative goals. Regular meetings are held to continually improve the audio content delivered by the station, and it is Justin, Oli, Kipp and the production team that lead these.

Their roles requires a good critical ear, so consistent station branding and good audio quality are applied to all programme outputs, and strong team management skills are key to their daily tasks. Other roles include:

Justin also presents the Press Selection show, Oli presents Version Galore, and Kipp is one half of the Beat Suite presenter team.

Aaron Howes, Guest Artist Co-ordinator

It’s not just DJs that play guest slots on Rhubarb Radio. Not only is Aaron one half of NoNo, he also co-ordinates all visiting bands and live audio performers that want to provide ‘spot’ broadcasts and take advantage of features available within existing radio shows. Aaron is the person to send your demo’s to via either post or email.

Alan Dolhasz, Venues, Events and Outside Broadcast Manager

The links to/from/with Live Venues across Birmingham is an increasing delivery area for us, growing in popularity all the time, and it is Alan who is responsible or delivering this with his team of external contractors. Utilising cutting-edge technology and developing systems with our web-team, Alan’s skills as a qualified (BA (Hons) sound engineer help him to pull together the technology required, to give our listeners crystal clear audio from remote sites.

Rob Adams, Myriad Manager

Programme Management and Scheduling of the Myriad Playout system, and ensuring that all presenter and production teams are kept up to speed with this dedicated radio tool is Rob’s main role, when he’s not presenting the ESP show of course. Rob also runs the 1:1 training on the Myriad system with the production and presenter teams, something which is an ongoing duty because we have new volunteers joining all the time.
